"Purple heart" review (SPOILER ALERT)

How thrilling it is to see two people polar opposite conspiring to commit a fraud against the government. Their scam doesn’t last, but along the way they gain something greater than what they expected. love.

Cassies is a diabetic singer and song writer who can barely afford to pay for her rent, let along her diabetes medicine. Luke is an ex-user who now wants to fix his life by joining the marine. Little does he know that the only thing that will bring meaning to his life, will later be found in the form of a short brunette that loves jalapenos and eats tacos for breakfast.

For mutual benefits they decide to get married despite them disliking each other, fortunately they won’t have to meet a lot because luke gets shipped to fight in Iraq. While cassie’s singing career blooms, luke’s mental health withers, additionally he gets badly injured. In the period of time where cassie has to take care of him in order to not expose themselves, they find themselves unable to escape the attraction they feel towards one another, which then develops to become an explosive feeling of love.

This movies finally made my dream of seeing the enemies to lovers’ trope being correctly converted to live action become a reality. I also got to see the bitter reality of the military and the toll it holds on the officers. Additionally the movie shows us that living the life you love doesn’t mean being happy or comfortable all the time, as cassie was pursuing what she loves, but in consequence she couldn’t afford to pay her rent nor medicine, which means that in order to have something you need to sacrifice another.
